Helianthemum (helianthemum), bloem van de tuin

De helianthème is een overblijvende plant met aanhoudende bladeren, met name aangepast aan rotstuinen dankzij de verspreidende groeiwijze. Het blad is groen-grijs, zilverachtig onder en een beetje behaard; de enkele of tweekleurige bloemen hebben 5 bloemblaadjes met gele meeldraden en sluiten aan het eind van de middag weer. De helianthesen ondersteunen de gel tot -15° C. Deze plant is te vinden aan de kust maar ook in de bergen meer dan 1500 meter!
